Getting our stories straight for the border guard:

Reen: Let's get our story straight.
Bob:
Kim purchased all these insulators they're worth about $20.00 bucks.

Kim:
Wait a minute..Wait a minute why are they MY insulators???
Bob and Reen in unison:
Fine, they're MY insulators!

Kim:
Why can't they be all of OUR insulators?
Bob:
Keep it simple.

Reen:
ok, what's the value, of each insulator.
Kim:
No! No! no talking insulators, say nothing unless were asked.
Bob:
We bought them from a friend, we have no bill.

Reen:
I have a bill...
Kim:
Eat it! quick!
Bob:
Don't eat it!
Kim:
Yeah! Eat it!
Reen:
YOU eat it!
Kim:
It's YOUR bill YOU eat it!
Reen:
Fine, got any ketchup?

Bob: What have I gotten myself into????????????

- Crossing the Line
Reen, Bob and I cross the border into the "United States of America" to visit David Bethman.

American Border guard: Citizenship?
Kim: Canadians.

American Border guard: Where you going? Kim: Ferndale Antique Barn.

American Border guard: HUH?
Kim: EH?

American Border guard: Where you going? Kim: Ferndale Antique Barn.

American Border guard: How you know the people in the car with you?
Kim: (Think.....THINK...eyes flash from Reen to Bob, Bob to Reen, Reen to Bob....friends? yeah that's the ticket....friends!)
They are my friends.

American Border guard: Go.

When we got to the Antique Barn we were admiring the many insulators of colour and clarity. McMicking Threadless, Whittal Tatum Purple, Thomas porcelain, and yes Surge...cute, cute, cute.

Reen and I cast each other knowing glances.....Always Thinking....we are insulator collectors justify the action.....Mmmmmm....we smile at each other, silent conversation....Got it!.....We must expatriate THESE insulators and repatriate THESE insulators.....eyes darting........David had opened the glass cabinet and left momentarily.......Fear and Loathing in Macys Mens Wear.....We see the sign....SMILE....your on camera....Check it out I'm a star...doot de doo.... "Want to come back to the house and I can show you some more insulators?" asks David. ......I notice Reens hand slightly trembling as she places the McMicking back on the shelf.........

David's home is beautiful and he has lovely insulators and glass bottles, we were fascinated with his lifestyle and his stories about collecting, he is very hospitable and patient, answering our questions, entertaining us with a video of a glass hunt and let us inspect all his bottles and insulators. We left with beautiful insulators and a new hobby "Treasure Hunters"!

Canadian Border Guard: Good Evening, and how are you folks tonight?
Kim: Well, thank you and yourself?

Canadian Border Guard: I'm good!
Kim: Beauty!

Canadian Border Guard: Where were you this afternoon and how long were you abroad?
Kim: Ferndale, visiting a friend, we were gone about three hours.

Canadian Border Guard: The value of the goods purchased?
Kim: Twenty Bucks.

Canadian Border Guard: Okay, have a nice evening, drive safe.
Kim: Thank you. I AM CANADIAN!

THANK YOU DAVID FOR A WONDERFUL GLASS ADVENTURE!!!!!
